While the hydrostatic proof test of control valves is well defined (e.g. ANSI/ISA-75.19) I have not been able to find a corresponding standard for burst testing.

My general belief is to try and use something other than a knife gate. These valves were originally designed for the Pulp&Paper Industry and would leak both through the seat and the bonnet.

Our High Pressure Separator Level Control Valve is LCV 25, dump valve is LCV 26, pressure control valve is PCV 85. Are these industry standards or site specific.
