Double Acting Valve for use in "Biogas" Engine

2010-11-04

I have a double acting valve that would increase effective port area by about 50% in a stationary biogas engine. Having this extra port area would allow the cylinder to be first filled with air before a pressurized biogas(for storage purposes)is allowed to enter the cylinder resulting in a gas fuel mixture of about 1.2 atms. This could be done without a turbocharger or supercharger. So has the valve increased the value of the engine by 20 percent or should it be looked at as saving the cost of the turbocharger. Of course there could be an engine system where all of these devices are employed. Anyway, I am trying to get an estimate as to the value of such a  gate valve to the biogas market (or any market) so if anyone has comments that can help me it will be appreciated.
