Gate Parts
Water faucets are very common in our daily life, I suppose. They are generally used to shut off the water by lifting and dropping the wedge. In fact, water faucet is the most common type of gate valves. Frankly speaking, gate valves hold the basic and common feature, which refers to the convenient and immediate flow regulating. Although they are made in various sizes, shapes, means of actuation, materials and other specifications, they occupy some main parts.Firstly, it is the valve handle and the valve stem. These two fittings are aimed to drive the mechanism. They can be classified into two main classifications, which is the type of rising stem and the type of non-ring stem. The valve handle is designed to attach the valve stem in order the rotate the functioning fitting.
Secondly, it is the featured part called the disc and seat. Generally speaking, these two parts cooperate to control the relative flow. When the gate valve disc is driven out from the valve seat, the flow would be allowed to go. And when the valve disc is driven to be contact tightly with the valve seat, the passing flow would be totally prevented from going through. In order to meet various specifications, these two parts are also available to be designed and manufactured in a wide range of shapes. The most common type is the V-shape.
Besides, body and valve bonnet are also indispensable. Actually, they are all the outer parts of a gate valve. Generally speaking, the valve body is used to connect the valve to the required pipelines. And the valve bonnet is used to contain the valve disc. Such two parts aim to provide a safe working condition for a gate valve. Both can be made of metal or plastic.
In words, these components cooperate to lead various gate valves to benefit all attaching industrial process. They are suitable for any situation requiring immediate and effective shutoff. The future for the gate valve continues to be much brighter, I believe.
