     Turn the water supply off for the home at the main supply valve.

     Locate the GATE VALVES that has the bad or broken handle.

   • 3

     Turn the valve all the way to the left.

   • 4

     Place an adjustable wrench over the nut on the valve.

   • 5

     Hold the valve with your hand and turn the wrench to the left to loosen the nut.

   • 6

     Unscrew the nut by hand until it comes off and then take off the handle.

   • 7

     Place the new handle on the valve and replace the nut.

   • 8

     Tighten the nut by hand and then use the adjustable wrench to make sure the nut is tight to properly secure the handle.

   • 9

     Turn the water back on at the main supply valve.
